Does anyone know if this song has been issued on CD anywhere? It was on a million RCA Christmas compilations during the 1970s, and I'll be amazed if it's never been issued on CD. But so far, I'm not finding it.
It appears that "Christmas with Danny Davis and the Nashville Brass," the album it's from, has never appeared on CD. There's a re-recorded version of that album from LaserLight, with all the same songs that were on the original album, but resequenced, and that appears to be what the Nashville Brass website is selling, repackaged as "Merry Christmas."
Does anyone own this song on CD? Maybe on a Reader's Digest or BMG comp? I've spent over an hour looking online, and I don't see any evidence it was ever issued on CD.

It's on Laser Light's The New Danny Davis & The Nashville Brass Christmas Album ... but the CD title implies that it may be a re-record ... even though the track list appears to be the same (in a different order) as the 1970 LP Christmas With Danny Davis and The Nashville Brass.
FWIW I recently picked up a Paul Anka Laser Light Christmas CD that was an exact copy of Anka's 1960 Christmas LP even though the cover made it look like it was contemporary recordings.
PS ... According to a review on Amazon the above CD is NOT a re-issue of the 1970 RCA LP. |

Well, I emailed the Nashville Brass website, and they CLAIM their CD is not a rerecording, even though the tracklisting is in the same order as the LaserLight rerecording, not the original album. But a review of the LaserLight CD on Amazon said the only place to get the original recordings is from the Nashville Brass website. So we'll see.

I have both of these. The Laser Light CD is a re-recording. The CD offered on the Nashville Brass website is a CD-R of the original 1970 RCA LP. It might be a needledrop, too. IIRC, I think there's surface noise on a couple of tracks (have to check later, I haven't pulled my Christmas CDs out of storage yet).
