Don't assume or mock the uninitiated  LOL  (you have now been told off!!  LOL).   I will await to hear this  Wipe Out and  I will let you know if it passes my floor test.

Unfortunately you won't hear it from me any time soon, as my computer is several states away from me a  the moment and I have no way of copying the file. If nobody gets it to you in the interim I'll get it out eventually, but it may well be early January before I get to do it.

Hi Beatle Peadles,

I am aware of all the hub bub about She Loves You vs Sie Leibt Dich.  I think everyone is right.  The stereo instrumental track used for Sie Leibt Dich was sped up for that track.  So the controversy attests that they master binaural tapes must be a Marconi Pathe in Paris somewhere because EMI UK cannot find them and that was the last place they were used.  Since that time the used the only thing they had and that was the mono masters at EMI.  Apparently there are about 13 edits in She Loves You.  That is also why syncing is a problem, let alone different takes for each edited segment.  She Loves You is surprisingly a frankenstein edited creation.  They even did that with the ending of Thank You Girl...they kept redoing the edited piece over and over again then piecing it together.  So She Loves You and Sie Leibt Dich are from the same session but differnt takes plus any edits in the english language She Loves You has many edits and the tempo and sync changes constantly...according to the website that had dedicated the time to research this.  I  think it is still out there..."The She Loves You Controversy"...or something like that.  Your comments.

Many theories on the "She Loves You" edits, mixes, and so on are at this link:

Way too much detail for all but the most dedicated fans, but it does have audio excerpts and comparisons. Interesting discussion.

All these theories are basically speculations from outside the music industry and makes for interesting reading. But according to people who I have talked to who worked within the music industry back then have told me that the backing track for Sie Leibt Dich is definitely a new recording and have the paper documentation. When George Martin was preparing to record the German She Loves You he first went back to use the original English backing track. But of course it wasn't there anymore and assumed it was "misplaced". So he had the Beatles rerecord the backing track first. Then the Beatles German vocals were added later. Now whether the new backing track was recorded in Paris or someplace else I don't know.

And while we are on the subject of the long missing 2 track of She Loves You, the latest intellectual discussions from within the music industry on this subject says that that tape was unlikely destroyed but most likely illegally and "permanently borrowed" by someone. Which means somebody has it although nobody can even speculate as to who actually might or might not have the tape. Further circumstantial evidence shows that  virtually every other 2 track recorded during that time period for EMI in 1963 were not destroyed and the original or a copy still exists today ! It is only those four 2 track Beatles songs that are MIA. Could that be just a coincidence ? I don't think so.

I tend to agree.  The whole session output is missing, "Ill Get You" as well.

I agree that someone may have walked off with the sessions reels, OR, they were unlabled and discarded by accident.

As for "SLD".....from what I've read , the paperwork doesnt say that the entire song was recorded anew. It merely states that they boys recorded X amount of takes of SLD, without specifying exactky WHAT was recorded. They may have just record German vocals that day, no one knows.

Since the She Loves You 45 is made up from 7 edits, its very possible that the backing track for "SLD" was one of the takes used to edit the single, along with other takes where they played better at certain parts. Unless the two track tape shows up, this is one of those mysteries that will go unsolved.

Someday, DES technology will be good enough to seperate She Loves You back into all its component parts for a true stereo mix. But that day is far, far, far away. "Spectral Editing" aint gonna cut it......whats needed is a Supercomputer that can be fed samples of the exact instruments used that day, and will then be able to seperate George and Johns Guitars from each other, and remove the overlap from Ringos snare drum (mid range frequencies) and completely filter out Pauls bass without any artifacts. Someday, but not in the forseable future, unless the Cray Computer Company wants to spend the cash!!!

This is not the case. Virtually all the original 2 tracks made by the Beatles in 1963 do not survive. The mono copies of some do for Please Please Me but most original session tapes for this album are gone as are most of the With The Beatles session tapes.

Contrary to popular rumour, whilst 1/4" tape has a better survival rate in the EMI vaults than 4 tracks which were obviously much bigger they were often dumped too.

Tapes were often dumped for space reasons - sometimes whole shelves being cleared of all session tapes to make room for masters. This process went on up to the early 70's.  Tapes could be dumped within weeks of recording which is what happened to the she loves you tapes. The only way to ensure survival of a recording was to cut it out and create a master - How Do You Do It only survives for this reason.
